Anganwadi Workers Made A Rally Due To Pending Salaries

As part of Chalo Vijayawada the Anganwadi Workers, Helpers union made a rally in Vijayawada from the railway station to Dharna Chowk.State secretary,K. Subbaravamma said that Anganwadi, Asha workers, mid-day meal employees and Health Department workers were working as scheme employees without getting the status of regular employees and the attendant benefits. “They are getting paltry salaries and are yet to get the minimum wages,” she said.


She remarked that the neighbouring Telangana increased the salaries of the Anganwadi employees to ?10,000,but the Andhra Pradesh government was yet to react.At least, the government should pay the pending salaries to the employees and improve the working conditions, she said.


Representatives of several political parties visited Dharna Chowk and offered their support.
